Mwila Changala, MRICS has over 12 years post qualification experience in Property Valuation, Property and Facilities Management. Mwila graduated from the Copperbelt University in Zambia with a B.Sc. Land Economy degree in 2002 (now renamed as BSc. Real Estate). He proceeded to work for Knight Frank Zambia, an International Property Consultancy firm. He worked at Knight Frank for 5 years and was qualified and Registered to practice valuation in 2004 by the Valuation Surveyors Registration Board of Zambia, a Statutory body responsible for regulation of Valuation Surveyors in Zambia. At Knight Frank, Mwila worked in the Valuation Department and undertook various valuation assignments for commercial, residential and farming property for various purposes such as Accounting i.e. Fixed Asset Register preparation, collateral for mainly the financial Institutions, Insurance, tax purposes etc. |

In 2007, Mwila left Knight Frank Zambia and joined Mukuba Pension Fund as Property Manager overseeing the Property Management function for the Pension Fund with a Property Portfolio worth over US$40 million i.e. commercial and residential properties in the three main cities in Zambia. This was a senior management position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and subsequently the Board of Trustees for the Fund. With encouragement from his partner and friends, Mwila founded Upmarket Property Consultants, which he managed on a part time basis from 2007. In 2011 he resigned from Mukuba pension to pursue his dream and run the company, he founded on a full-time basis as Managing Partner.
